“I'm a survivor, I'm not gon' give up ––– I'm not gon' stop, I'm gon' work harder”
Success is the progressive realization of a goal.
This morning I was driving on the Florida Turnpike with my music blasting. “Survivor” by Destiny’s Child came on. As the song played, I took a trip down memory lane.
This year has been one of the most tumultuous but fruitful years of my life. I have faced personal and professional struggles before, so I was not too worried when adversity raised its ugly head. I have always been able to identify the problem and push forward with a solution that garnered success. This year, I almost lost sight of that, but almost doesn’t count.
2018 has held some of my greatest achievements and I am so grateful. On the road to these achievements, quite a few opportunities, things and people were removed from my life. At the time, I did not understand the injustice I had been putting myself through by trying so hard to hold on to them. They were being purged from my life so I could have a more authentic and fulfilling journey on my 2018 road to success.
Note to Self:
When it looks bleak, make a plan that will help you achieve small steps towards your goals so you do not lose sight of your success. Don’t be afraid to purge anything that pushes you away from your goals.
I did not just survive 2018, I thrived!
