Case Study: Lakes Alert for the City of Lauderdale Lakes
Background
The City of Lauderdale Lakes is located in Sunny South Florida.
During the 2020 health crisis, the cities leadership identified a hole in its ability to communicate quickly and remotely with its residents.
As a result, they implement a new community Alert Center they call Lakes Alert.
Lakes Alert allows Lauderdale Lakes residents to view all alerts and emergencies in their area. If there are alerts or emergencies, they will be listed online by category.
The Results
YKMD was hired to design and produce a host of promotional materials to increase the program visibility amongst residents including but not limited to the program logo, social media posts, T-shirts, flyers, tents, table cloths, window decals, pull up banners, fence banners and poll banners.

The Process
After meeting with the City Manager’s staff, YKMD began a deep dive exploration on the city’s past campaigns to understand what would encourage residents to take the desired actions.
From there we developed a strong wordmark lock up and a brand direction.
Once the designs were approved by the Mayor and City Manager, we fabricated and delivered each piece to the city for immediate use at city resource drives.
